A Land of Multipliers

Picture
A Land of Multipliers had its beginning in the 80's. My granddaughter Nicole was beginning school and when numbers were introduced, she did not "cotton" to them. She was a very bright kid,
but math scared her.. (I was not a math-whiz either!)

I suggested a book. She would write something onto whatever story line I sent her, and add her own ideas about the plot and characters... In the days before the internet, this was difficult for a eight year old, especially one so far away from this idea...
(She had subsequently moved with her parents to Colorado)  The book was put on a high shelf to think about "later".

Last year my beautiful granddaughter unexpectedly died. I learned several things: do not take important people for granted, do not take important peoples for granted, and thirdly, do not take important people for granted. Your life can turn on a dime.

I retrieved the bare bones of the story literally from a high shelf in my office  and finished it. Hopefully it will encourage kids to learn about numbers, their place in our lives and how they work.  Enjoy!

A good agent would be a welcomed partner. If you know anyone let me know.
